This Holiday Season, Don’t Biggie-Size; Mini-Size

Now that we are well into the holiday season, we still need to stay focused on our year-long goals of eating and staying healthy. However, the holiday season can throw a curve ball into our efforts. It is a time when many of us over-indulge.

At Thanksgiving, I would normally make 9-inch butternut squash pies, topped with spiced apples. Yum! But, with a regular size pie, you tend to slice a much bigger piece than needed. This year, I still made the pies, but smaller versions. The family really enjoyed having the individual pies. And, I was happy to enjoy a pie, without feeling that all my efforts to stay healthy, were being thrown out the window. Don’t they look scrumptious!
